How to match cufflinks

When choosing cufflinks, all kinds of accessories such as ties, bowties, handkerchiefs, watches, rings, belt buckles, tie clips and bracelets should be evaluated as a whole with the cufflink.

A guaranteed method for harmony is to use the same color for the cufflinks and accessories. If a tie or bow tie is used, you can choose the cufflink in the same or similar tones.

You can also achieve harmony with different color combinations. For example, you can achieve a striking appearance by using contrasting colors.

Contrasting colors complement each other. They are found together in nature frequently.

It is also possible to use neighboring colors together to obtain a harmonious look. When two primary colors are mixed together, they become adjacent to the resulting color.

For example, when blue is mixed with red, purple is obtained. Blue, purple and red are neighboring colors.

Someone who mostly wears a blue suit or wears a blue tie may prefer purple cufflinks. Similarly, someone wearing a purple tie could wear red cufflinks.

You do not need to match the colors exactly. For example, for a yellow tie, you might consider wearing a cufflink with gold details. Likewise, you can combine different tones of blue cufflinks with a blue tie.

High contrast or colored cufflinks on a white shirt will be quite striking. On a dark-colored shirt, you should prefer a cufflink with light colors for the same effect.

Black cufflinks can be easily favored in many combinations. Since most tuxedos are black, a cufflink with black details will perfectly match with many combinations.
